MaroonRegal Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Pretty fuckin' expensive for a little piece of metal. Quote
Upgrade Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Yes, that tool or a cheaper one like it is a must to get the timing perfect. A lot of guys here have had them made or made a set up. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 If you have an AutoZone near you, they rent out parts for free. You pay extra for it, but you get your money back when you bring it back. They just might have this part there. Quote
kcac Posted April 18, 2004 Author Report Posted April 18, 2004 Thanks for the tool rental tip. I'd rather rent it than buy it. I already made the cam hold-down tools (2 pieces of 6" square stock). From what I understand, this camshaft sprocket holder is used to prevent the the camshaft sprockets from moving when you "break" the bolt that holds the camshot sprocket to the camshaft. That's what I was wondering, if anyone who had done the timing belt had to use this tool in order to loosen that bolt. Quote
