Robby1870
I bought a 3.1L about a 6 months ago, and the owner said on start up one day, it just wouldnt turn over anymore, he even tried turning it over with his hand, and it would only rotate like 345-350 degrees, then stop. Well...here's why. BTW these pics are overexposed (brightened up) so you can see details. This was the #3 piston, and thats the exhaust valve sticking up. Enjoy! Vegeta
Thats a high performance piston now, exhaust valve built right in. Ebay that bitch!
Robby1870
yeah...you can see the end of the broken valve stem from the underside of the piston. I think I'll get the wrist pin pressed out, clean it up, and it'll be a paper weight, lol
GnatGoSplat
Holy crap! Did the valve fall in from a broken spring, or did the stem break?

Robby1870
No, it came from a 1992 Cutty, and the valve stem broke on startup. The springs are still good, it bent one other valve too EDIT: MaroonRegal, here are the links to them, hopefully you'll be able to see them now: http://members.fortunecity.com/robby1870/piston&valve1resize.jpg http://members.fortunecity.com/robby1870/piston&valve2resize.jpg http://members.fortunecity.com/robby1870/piston&valve3resize.jpg
