Robby1870 Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 And if anyone wants to post directions how to do the innter tie rod with the motor and tranny in, that'd be helpful too 8) Quote
Justin Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 If the engine is out, you simply unhook and remove the outer ends, cut the clamps on the rack and pinion boots, and you'll probably be able to get a bigass vice grip or channellock pliers on there and get them loose. there is a special tool just for the job that makes them easy as pie, and it works equally as well if the engine's in there. SleeperRed90TGp Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 I guess you can use some big ass vise grips or a pipe wrench. I got the tool from AZ, OR"S has them also. It's about 1 1/2 to 2'' long piece of tubing shaped like a socket on the end. It slides over the tie rod. They loan the tie rod remover also. Better than beating the shit out of it with a hammer. Hose clamps will work for the boot's unles you have the crimper. The parts store's didn't. Jud Quote
