EurosportZ34
Does anyone know where the stock chip number is located on my '92 3.4L DOHC's ECM? I checkd the FFP site and that doesn't give me enuf info as to which 4-digit number is the correct one? Any info would be great so that I can order it as soon as I get this number. Thanks! Thanks! take the memcal cover off the ECM and you'll see the # on a silver sticker on the memcal cover (the light blue thing that covers the actual chip and knock circuitry). there is also a 4 digit code on the chip itself and you can see it thru a hole in the blue cover. joshua
EurosportZ34
Silver sticker on the blue cover? Are you talking about the sticker on the flip side of the ECM cover? If so there are a couple 4-digit numbers there.
Guest TurboSedan
ha you caught me trying to edit my post  no not the part that you take off the ECM that covers the memcal. i'm talking about the sticker that is on the memcal itself (the blue part of the memcal that covers the chip & knock circuitry). there is also another sticker on the chip itself. i have one right here from an '89 3.1/5-speed. the sticker on the memcal reads: Delco ATMM 5331 but the sticker on the chip itself reads: Delco J954 does yours have anything like that? joshua
EurosportZ34
OK, yeah I was checking all that shit around the ECM today and those numbers/letters do sound familiar. I will check it out tommorow when there is more light outside. :? Thanks alot! I'll keep this posted on my findings.
jmacks92ste
find it alright? i just put in my ffp chip recently and i must say that it did help quite a bit !
EurosportZ34
find it alright? Actually I never found the exact location of the chip. I was talking with some friends who said FFP doesn't really need the stock number anyways. So once the chip arrives I might need your help installing it. I'll PM you when that time comes. You see much gain in power from your mods? Our mods will seem to be very similar once I get these parts on.
jmacks92ste
Ive noticed a great improvement on mine! sorry didnt see this post for awhile...did you get the chip yet?
EurosportZ34
Yes, I got the chip, and Tony (5speedZ34) helped me to install it. I noticed a significant amount of power. My RPM limiters are now set higher so it climbs alot more than it used to. I ordered the FFP motor mount, which I installed today, and the UD pulley which I'll hopefully be getting on in the next week or so.
Vegeta
I wanna point out that I dont need the 4 letter code for the 91-93 DOHC cars. For the other cars it is still important.
DaveFromColorado
on the 3.4 dohc motor the most recent program code is BHAK, but of the listings, for the auto's it could be: AYSZ BCDW BCDY BHAK I believe that may be what you are looking for, as for the 5-speeds, the only one I can find is BCFA
