Guest RedCutlassSL
This is Dustin's girlfriend writting this message, he doesn't have access to a computer right now, and he need your help. Drining down the road, heard a pop and radio went out and ABS light went on. The 10 amp was blown, replace with another 10 that also blew, ignition is off, accidentally put in 25 amp fuse and smoke poured out of the dash, had it in for 2 seconds and pulled it out. Any ideas?? GP1138
Hmm.. I may be wrong, but that fuse might be for the AC 1 or 2 circuit.. which if you put a 25 amp fuse in a 10 amp socket would now be somewhat fried. That would be a problem. runt
Probably a loose or open wire somewhere behind the dash, maybe even for the radio (if thats the fuse that blew, or was it the ABS fuse?). If it was the fuse for the radio, pull the head unit out and check the wires. As for the ABS fuse...does the car still have tail lights and brake lights? Slade901
He might have to remove the fuse panel screws holding it in place and look at the back of the wires where this fuse goes in. There should be a burn mark sign if the burned wire is just behind the fuse box. Otherwise, he needs to trace the wire starting from the back of the fuse box and follow it.
