ThunderBat Posted March 31, 2004 Report Share Posted March 31, 2004 when I first saw this latest body style of Monte I was very put off by it, and I agree that it does have some styling cues from the older MC's...In GMs effort to put all their design work into one package for the sake of NASCAR (and increase their chances for a manufacturers title)...they pull their backing for Pontiac and give NASCAR a profile to help them on the track...unfortunately, the same shape sans the big tires and low stance of a stock car looks out of place to me. I also agree with the previous statement that the whole grille/front facsia needs revision for a more aggresive look...the whole car has grown on me some of late, but had it been a low, wide tired,V8 RWD car it would have shamed the new GTO off the map....hmmmm sounds like maybe I need to PaintShop a new Monte! Cornerdealy Posted April 1, 2004 Report Share Posted April 1, 2004 i love the style of the 70's and 80's, esp. the 80's with the hard lines and sharp edges, i hate the 90's because it just looks like a typical smoothed out sedan, no character at all, finally i like the new ones because they have similar styling to the older montes.
