Intercooler pipe question

I know that the turbo outlet is 2". Now, my frount mount intercooler has an inlet and outlet of 2.5".

Would it be better to run a 2" pipe from the turbo outlet into a 2-2.5" reducer on the inlet side of the intercooler, or would it be better to run a 2-2.5" reducer off of the turbo outlet and run a 2.5" pipe from that to the intercooler inlet?

Now, the stock upper intake pipe has an inlet of 2.25". Should I run a 2.5-2.25 reducer off of the intercooler and run a 2.25 pipe to the upper intake, or run a 2.5" pipe from the intercooler into a 2.5-2.25" reducer off of the upper intake?

personally i don't think it would really matter, since the turbocharger compressor outlet and the throttle body are both 'bottlenecks' compared to the intercooler inlet/outlet size. a smaller pipe would be somewhat easier to plumb, and it might be cheaper. on a side note, my brother just got some intercooler plumbing pipe & couplers from ATP Turbo tonight. he is using a big (really big) NPR intercooler in his Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. his intercooler has 2.75" inlet/outlet, and he is going to run 2.75" pipe along with the reducers/couplers that ATP Turbo has. you might take a look at atpturbo.com and see what they have. one of the couplers that ATP sent him was the wrong size, but otherwise everything was fine.
