musthavemuzk Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 no exactly what i wanted but it seemed fair. 93 GP Sedan. forget if it is LE or SE maroon with charcoal interior 3.1 dirty as hell though 126,000 on the clock some things wrong of course to low a price for all to be in good order. i need to hit the search engine to see what is going on and how to fix things. a little rust right rear fender missing drivers door trim cracked window pass front window does not roll down drivers window is stiff as hell SES light but we ran that and it comes out to be the O2 sensor. forget it if was a 13 or a 31. low fuel light is on even with full tank the mysterious oil leak is present has a temp guage and i noticed it is all over the place. looks like from 180 or 190 up to 220 sluggish as all hell. could be part of the SES light poor idle shifts fine though brakes are good almost new tires on front 40% left on rear i have power locks that works now. had the guy go and get a fuse to replace a toasted one. a little jerky from a dead stop. with what i know already and what i have read here i have ideas to look at. just need to get out there now and dig a little bit will get pics tomorrow not a beauty but will get me around til warmer weather so i can fix my cutlass then decide what to keep and what goes and then go from there. musthavemuzk Posted March 8, 2004 Author Report Posted March 8, 2004 first some pics http://www.dbfanatics.com/forum/photo_album_view.asp?cname=93gplemar04&mid=16&cid=255 i have more but it was an awful nice day outside so i wanted to spend as much as i could outside. noticed some things today. starting and running cold things were just like my cutlass before the head gasket went. not alot of balls but more than what i have now with it. once it started to warm a little bit the idle went a little rough. from a stop there is a shake. punching it while at a steady speed it downshifts but has no balls to accelerate. temp gauge seemed fine today. warmer outside and sunny to boot. wierd cleaned IAC and TB as well as i could with the can spray stuff. air filter fine definitely needs wires gonna do plugs as well as a fuel filter. just need a way to get it in the air for a little bit. bunches of snow or wet sloppy snow on the ground. all depends on where you look and wha time of day you look. from what i recall from past readings ( have not looked since purchase) possible causes fuel filter catalytic converter plugs and wires coil pack(s) MAF TPS something about vacuum and tranny. no OD in this one like i had in my 90 cutlass 3.1 so not sure on tranny model. at the time i felt it a little high but i was tired of being without wheels and this stuff is easier to work on as compared to tearing a motor apart in this weather with no place besides outside to work. now after all of the lookig today mayb i got alot more problems that i thought. still will enjoy dinking with it. should get me around town nicely. price i paid 1400. go ahead and say i paid to much. as i have wondered that alot today. oh well what do ya do? J Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 i think it's a pretty good deal actually, nice car, but the only complaint i would have is that dammed split bench seat! i hate mine! (soon to have gtp buckets) but i would have paid that much Quote
Z34door Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 ok the tranny you have is the TH125C.......... good trannys they just rev on the highway...........trow some fuel injector cleaner in it and see what it does........... i assume you checked all the fluids but do so if you havent already........... the O2 sensor is code 13........ there is a vaccum line that goes into the top of the tranny that is prone to cracking....... your best bet is to trace it and replace it. musthavemuzk Posted March 10, 2004 Author Report Posted March 10, 2004 ok last night i installed my cd player from my cutlass. that was not fun at all. no room for wires at all behind the head unit. i thought my cutlass was a PITA. that was easy compared to this GP. i could have swore the code we pulled at the dealer was a 13. after work today i was gonna get one and put it in but i thought i should check again to make sure. codes pulled tonight 23 and 43. 23 is simple and cheap to fix. MAT/IAT sensor under 10 bux easily or i could just pull it from my cutlass. 43 is knock sensor or MEM-CAL. i do not think i can take the MEM-CAL from my cutlass. as it is a dif tranny and so on. knock sensor ranged from 35-50 bux online but no idea where it is located at. so i guess i have an idea of what to do to hopefully fix things. have not done any searching for answers yet except in the haynes manual. have not looked here, clubgp or 60degree yet. i still plan on plugs wires and fuel filter as well. but am on limited funds so i have to prioritize what to do first here.
