Marcus18 Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 hooked up to the turbo 3.1? If I don't pop the clutch and do easy takeoffs. the clutch was replaced a year ago and then about 2 months later the slave cylinder went out and it sat so I think it's about new. Quote
PaPaPooh Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 easy take offs are harder on the clutch if you want it to last don't ride the clutch good luck Quote
GPdriver1986 Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 I learned about manual trannys at school. My auto teacher (former GM tranny mech) told us not to ride the clutch it wears it out and don't downshift that wears out the clutch too, instead put it in neutral and use your brakes. Remember brake pads/shoes are cheaper then a clutch job. Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 Heres some info on double clutching and Heel and Toe downshifting that you should read. http://www.edmunds.com/ownership/howto/articles/45792/article.html http://www.driversedge.com/dblcltch.htm ooooo I learned that back in grade 3 it's good stuff Quote
