ismellrealbad
Has anyone instead of replacing their worn seats in their car just got them reupholstered? I wanted to just replace mine but no junkyards have them. My dad suggested getting them reupholstered and all that came to my head was "how the fuck do they do that?" It just seems like repairing a torn seat is either impossible or of shitty quality, since in order for it to look good you'd need to have the original fabric from thr factory and be able to sew it on without it looking like it was fixed!! how?? bah. well im gunna give it a shot so if anyones done it let me know bout how much it costs for one seat and how it turned out
89BuickRegalGS
might not be much of a help to you, but... there is a shop near my university that does upholstry, specializing in automobiles. They claim they use (on there sign) upholstroy specific to cars, and also claim to specialise in BMW and Jaguars. Sounds odd, but I am guessing from this they have suppliers out there somewhere! cstyle73
I do car interiors and I do furniture upholstery. If you want to try it yourself here is an easy way to do it if you are good on a sewing machine. Carefully take all the fabric loose and split all the seams, then retrace each part on your choice fabric (leaving enough on the edges to be sewn) and re-sew each peice back together where they came from. This will take a lot of time but next to taking it to a professional it is a whole lot cheaper. By the way my shop will have it's grand opening in Feb. Anything custom I can do...... cstyle73
I do everything. Headliners, door panels, dash, everything. I install stereos, fiberglass enclosures, the works. We need to hook up sometime so I can check out your car.
ismellrealbad
i normally would try the cheap way of doing it myself but this is something that i dont want to do myself cuz i know ill fuck up and it'll suck. plus im not the one payin for it. funnny how my parents refuse to pay for anything of mine (repairs, parts, insurance, basically anything related to cars) but all of the sudden they want to fix my seat which i told them i was fine with the duct tape anyway heh. oh well free=free
