dohc v6 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Share Posted March 2, 2004 i know about the mysterous leak but that is not it. the leak comes from the side of the oil pan. if you were to look at it you can see if leaking from only one side of the oil pan. it does not leak much but i want to fix it. It could be a few things... first the rear main seal on GM's are a high mileage issue. It's the seal between the engine and tranny and you'll need to pull the powertrain apart to fix. Other if you have the DOHC (which I'm assuming) it could be the Oil Pump cover o-ring.
