Guest TurboSedan Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 i would like to see some feeback on the Garrett dual ball bearing GT28RS, aka the "disco potato." http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-004&Category_Code=GRT sounds like about the closest bolt in turbo upgrade available yet so far. $1200 tho, yikes! joshua Quote
skalor Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I plan on getting a potato this summer as I'm almost done with my getrag 284 swap so I don't really have the money to spend on a turbo right now. I think there's someone else that might be contemplating getting a potato, but so far no one that I know of has a GT28RS on a turbo 3.1. If you think that's a lot of $$$, then look up the HKS GT2535 or any other HKS T25 turbine hybrid for that matter. http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=705   Quote

RareGMFan Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Wow, thats more then a lot of us pay for our cars! Some of us bought BOTH our turbos for less with plenty of change left over!   Quote
god910 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I'm SERIOUSLY debating it, but I want to figure out a turbo that is an accepted turbo, w/ possibly a cam and D/P combo. If I'm gonna go through this I want it all at once and I (obviously) am gonna have to make a chip for it. To that end, I want to find out what everyone wants (and can afford), then I will complete it, tune the chip, and make it available to everyone that's interested. I don't mind having a one off, but I like helping people at the same time. Quote
