rudefyet Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 well i probably know what this is but i'll ask just in case as you know my gp has the good ol leaf springs in the rear but anyways whenever i hit a bump or anything of that sort the back end makes a squeaking noise...almost like having sex on an old bed my obvious guess is struts anything else that could do that? regalized Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 its the struts, i hit a big ole bump way too fast in a parking lot and now mine does the same thing...anyone know how much they cost to replace? How hard is it for the do it yourselfer? Quote
canusa Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 you might also wantto check the pads that the ends of the leaf sit on. That was what was making mine squeek.. 12 dollar kevlar ones went in from canadian tire.. and no more squeek just a suggestion -canusa Quote
ShockTherapy Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 struts, i think are $375 installed at midas or something in that ballpark... at least for my regal they were. Quote
913_4se Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 i put my rear struts in and only cost about $100 for KYB there is only four bolts and it is easy to do the only thing i would say to do is soak the bottom two bolts before doing the job they tend to rust some a 3# hammer works to break them well dont worry about messing up the nut the ones on the top of the strut are the same size and grade Quote
joey b Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 my old cutty did that and I would spray WD 40 in some area right in the middle of the monoleaf where it mated to something else :?: It made it go away for a lil while. Quote
