cutlass88 Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 This morning when I went to school, I had to put the break all the way down in order to stop and even when I floored the pedal, the car was gliding at 1km/h so I bought some DOT3 break fluid and poured it. Now, the brake light that was on for 2 months went off and the breaking seems better but still somewhat spongy. Why is it still spongy? Thank you. sry for my english Quote
Slade901 Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 You may have air in the brake system. Moisture builds up in the brake system over time. If you have to put more brake fluid to get rid of the light then you might need a new brake pads replacement. As the brake pads wears the brake fluid level goes down to compensate for the brake pad wear. I would go ahead and do a brake bleeding to get rid of that spongy feeling on the brake pedal. Quote
hazmatic Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 haha u needed break fluid haha Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 yea you definately need to bleed the breaks to get the air outta the system. That's why they aren't as responsive as they used to be. Keeping the right amount of brake fluid is really important...unless you're trying to die or something. 8) Quote
