rudefyet Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 hmmm....i saw a post in here earlier about a 3800 with a 5-spd attached I was just curious....is the tranny actually out there....like i can get it at a junkyard and bolt it right onto a 3800 and if it is will it work with a newer L67? Just wondering...because that would open an entire new world of possiblilities for the 97 Regal GS i'm looking for Details...i need details here Quote
5speedz34 Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Well I think the bell housings might be different but, a 282 or a 284 should work with no problem. Quote
brian89gp Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Bell housing bolt pattern is the same. You will need to have a custom flywheel drilled because the 3800 never came with anything other then an automatic, and this might be difficult since just about every series of 3800 was balanced slightly different. rudefyet Posted February 21, 2004 Author Report Posted February 21, 2004 honestly...i'll probaly stick with the automatic though i just read a post on L67swap.com seems one of there board memebers is having a company build 5 and 6 speeds for L67's that can handle at least 500hp Quote
