MaD Posted August 29, 2002 Report Posted August 29, 2002 http://home.att.net/~aldridgec/TGP/Engine/motor_mount.htm Has anyone tried this? Sounds like a pretty good idea to me, seeing as MY dogbone bushing are completely shot. I'm sure someone else's bushings are bad, or at least GOING bad Well Anyways, -MaD- Quote
brian89gp Posted August 30, 2002 Report Posted August 30, 2002 http://www.fastfwdperformance.com/db.htm These are prettier. Also, at least on the 3.4 DOHC, the stock cast ones have broken before. Quote
Vegeta Posted August 30, 2002 Report Posted August 30, 2002 http://www.60degreev6.com/members/sappyse107/dogbone.html They get the most attention and people think my engine must be something special if i have them on. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 30, 2002 Report Posted August 30, 2002 Park downhill to change the plugs? Good idea. I don't even unbolt the dogbones. I pull the alt. off. Takes me about 45 seconds to get it off. Quote
per0781 Posted August 30, 2002 Report Posted August 30, 2002 i changed the bushings to poly as what was asked in the original post. Paul Quote
JPaganel Posted August 30, 2002 Report Posted August 30, 2002 As Brian said it... $120!!!!!! I'm thinking maybe I'll polish the stock bones and paint them... Quote
gpse3200 Posted August 30, 2002 Report Posted August 30, 2002 There is a solid rubber Main engine mount from two companies, LNS and Westar. I think that's a better thing in my opinon. If your torque struts are in good shape and you install this mount, the engine won't move much not only that it won't vibrate the car apart. It give alittl more vibration but its not obtrusive. So far my Torque struts haven't died since I installed that mount. Also it won't not stress the tie bar as much as since most of the motion is cancled at the bottom. Its a tough piee of rubber, runs for $40-45. I recommend it. http://www.rockauto.com/ Look up a motor mount for a W car Quote
