I'm planning on getting some new mufflers and I just want to know what the size of the inlet/outlet sizes on my stock mufflers?

good luck i asked the same question and no one answered

its 2 or 2.25

i held a tape measure to the inlet pipe and got 2 but then again i measured at night, with just a flashlight...

2 seems small...

My muffler has 2.25" inlets/outlets. Works perfectly with the factory piping.

Isn't this like the 3rd thread this week on exhuast size?

well I measured the circumference of the inlet and outlet (because I can't take them off yet) and it came out to about 7 inches on both sides.

Thus C = pi(D)

7 = pi(D)

7/pi = D

D = ~2.22 inches

so i guess it is safe to say 2.25 due to human imperfections on my part.

I measured my exhaust a while back with a dial calipers. It was around 2.25" after the cat.

But I have the 3800 so it may be different.

yeahhh, when i was at the muffler shop the mechanic put his index finger and thumb completely around the pipes, meaning by his ghetto calculation was 2" exactly!!! (i thought it was 2.25 tho.... :shock: )

if you have singles then it is most likely 2.25". i know the regal has 2.25" and the 1995 Lumina LS had 2.25" single. on the cars with dual it is 2.25" on the mid pipe and splits to 2" if i remember correctly. eather way any good muffler shop will make a 2.25" work. but i think the duals are 2".
