THe_DeTAiL3R Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 Alright I have the digital/analog dash in my GP Today the temp guage SHOT WAY UP to about the 2 o'clock position  and the light is on as well. I know my car is NOT overheating and runs fine. Also the light next to it is alway on, and sometimes the coolant light (it hasn't been going on lately since I've been driving the car though). I HAVE changed the t-stat a little while ago if that makes any difference. Lastly my RPM guage sometimes shoots up, which is solved by banging the dashboard. So is it my cluster (need soldering?) a sensor? possibly air in my system?? (doen't appear to be running hot). Again the temp guage is at an insanely high reading (way past the red!) and it happened very suddenly. I know there was a similar post on this not too long ago if anyone knows where it is and could link it that would be great. thanks guys Quote
913_4se Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 i had mine do some what the same thing and i soldered it its been fine since good luck Quote
jeremy Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 my old '89 GP digital cluster did crazy $hit like that too, I didn't know that you could solder it, so I bought one from a j/y....work fine afterthat.... the GP digital clusters suck so much a$$ Quote
MethodMan Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 This is a very common problem with GM clusters .. a little solder goes a long way. "Cold" or dirty solder is the culprit here guys . If you decide to do this yourself ... BE CAREFUL ... Quote
