Upgrade
I have a 1994 Buick Skylark, yeah I know its not a W-body, that has an incredibly high idle when it starts in the cold. I'm talking like 2500 rpm's. The car didnt do this when it was warm. All the fluids are topped off. I seem to remember other people have an issue like this but I can't pinpoint it. The car has a 3100 motor and 4T60 trans. I looked around and I didnt see any wires that have come unplugged. Does anyone have an idea about whats going on? Redfox340
Sonuds alot like the failing intake manifold gaskets on the 3.4L DOHC. Especially if it idle highs cold and then levels out when the engine warms up. To check, spray some carbuator cleaner around the gasket when the car is running. If the idle fluxuates at all, you found the culprit. - Erik
