GrandPrix34 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 sorry to break it to ya but you can dump $1,000 worth of engine mods and stereo equipment respectively and our W-bodies would STILL be worth $2800 or less...and thats pushing it!! Quote
musthavemuzk Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 and i hate to break it to you as well... most people do not care about mods when making the purchase. i know dealers do not care when it is on a trade in. just something we do to make our cars ours. might get interest from another enthusiast but not the generl public. pontiac735 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Can a 2.8 be dropped in in place of a 3.1 ,are there any changes that would have to be done? Quote
slick Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 I wouldn't recommend it, it would be even slower than what it is allready. But, I do have a 3100 with tranny if you feel like going that route. Quote
Robby1870 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Can a 2.8 be dropped in in place of a 3.1 ,are there any changes that would have to be done? It depends. If the 2.8 is and 88 its MAF instead of MAP, so you would either have to convert the 2.8 to MAP (your best option) or modify the 3.1L harness and ECM to accept MAF (stupid, cuz the 88 MAF is shitty) Quote
no1kicker Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 You could put in a 3.4 with little effort. Talk to gp90se. Quote
RedZMonte Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 "inexpensive motor swaps for a 92 prix???" sound like a oxymoron or a double negitive shane Quote
EurosportZ34 Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 You could put in a 3.4 with little effort. Talk to gp90se. Amen...put in a 3.4 Since it was an option on your car it would be easy to swap in place of your current. That is what I would do. The L67 would take more to swap. But if you got alot of time on your hands (and another car...hehehe) then go for the L67, it's alot newer. Quote
913_4se Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 you can put a cadilac V8 in the W body just have to have or buy motor mounts and axles i think only the drivers side is shorter and still uses the same trany i think Quote
89oldscutlass Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 If you go with a 3100 just make sure its not got the roller cam and lifters. They are bad about the lifters failing. You could go with the 3400 it has a little more hp then a 3.1 or 3100. Quote
EurosportZ34 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 You could go with the 3400 it has a little more hp then a 3.1 or 3100. That is true, or you could go with the 3.4 DOHC which has more hp then all three!! Quote
