BurneroftheRice Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Hey everybody, I know it isnt a w-body but it concerns engines found in the w-bodies. I found this while lurking on cardomain. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/465867/1 Does it look real? Quote
jeremy Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Does it look real? how many more detailed pics do you need to believe it???? Quote
conley3.1 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Man thats frickin BAD!! That thing must fly! Wonder how much it weighs... Quote
WhiteOut Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Man thats frickin BAD!! That thing must fly! Wonder how much it weighs... About 3600 lbs. stock. Minus the heavy automatic and plus a supercharged engine I'd guess slightly less than that now. Man, that would be fun to drive. I drove a 93' Allante once and that was a hoot, 275 hp, but that was an automatic...that car may be 70 hp or so shy of the Allante, but the manual would more than make up for it in the fun department. Steve LS Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 In my opinion the Reatta was the creme of the crop for the 80's FWD bodys. Actually they were heavy, fully loaded luxury cars. 3100-3300 lb. Based on the Riviera/Toronado platform but shortened wheelbase some. Dont know the specifics. The Riv/Toro was more like a W with rear monoleaf and similar sizeing. I never heard of this S1 getrag car before. There is a guy on BCA's Reatta forum that has a L67 getrag. There is also one guy that Turboed a older LG3-C 3800. edit : sorry I didnt read all pages on that car. I didnt see the SC attached. Maybe this is the same guy ? Whiteout - you sure they go 3600 ? I know everyone always tried to figure out how in hell they are heavier than 2dr LeSabre which is 3300. Quote
topless94style Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Those are heavy little cars... but i bet that would be a trip to drive! Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 very very cool but kinda ugly too. joshua Quote
WhiteOut Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Yeah, my Trofeo was around 3700 lbs stock. I figure since they share a platform, have identical drive trains and a buttload of extras that they've got to be in the same weight range. Kind of like the new Nissan 350Z, I don't recall its exact weight, but its a porker becuase it shares a platform with the Murrano. Economies of scale and whatnot, and if GM is good at anything its economies of scale. 3600 lbs. may be a touch heavy, but not much. Quote
MaroonRegal Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 /me feels freshly inspired to build his turbo/5-speed series II. Quote
Steve LS Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Could you imagine ? I'd love to have one just on the L27. I think big bucks go into the flywheel/clutch. Quote
slick Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 West Coast Fiero's makes the stuff you need to have a 5-speed 3800. Quote
MaroonRegal Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 West Coast Fiero's makes the stuff you need to have a 5-speed 3800. But we'll still need some parts from a 5-speed equipped w-body. Quote
