bluegp Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 The rear strut assemblies from a 2nd gen W don't interchange with a 1.5 gen W, do they? Quote
Redfox340 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 The rear strut assemblies from a 2nd gen W don't interchange with a 1.5 gen W, do they? Nope, otherwise we'd be all lowered and taping into the Gen II aftermarket. - Erik Quote
RedZMonte Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 the 1st gen w-body and the 1.5gen are the same except the rears. the monte's have a spring purch and a coil on each of the rear. where as the 1st gens have a mono leaf spring. but the struts has the same dimentions (other then the spring purch). redZ Quote

The reason I originally asked was because I saw some 2nd gen strut assemblies on eBay and my '96 Lumina could use some new struts back there. Quote
RedZMonte Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 i suggest getting some KYB GR-2's or a pair of sensatracs. they are cheap and have a warrenty. the 2nd gen ones will not work on anything but a 2nd gen Quote
