90KUTTY Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Simple question, where do i get the rivets i need to replace the old ones, is it possible to use something besides rivets to put the new motor in? Quote
Robby1870 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Yes, you can just use regular screws instead of rivets. You'll have to find the right screws for the hole though. You'll need to drill the old rivets out. Its not an easy task replacing the regulator. Good Luck Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 I used nuts, bolts, and lockwashers. No problems. Quote
J Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 on my sunbird the spring unwound and almost took off my finger so be careful!!!! u can pick up a rivit gun at a local hardware store for pretty cheap. Take you time on that one boss, dont rush it and risk losing a finger like i almost did Quote
SmoothSteve3 Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 I've done 2 of the regulator replacement procedures in the last year, so just pm me if you need any help. nuts and bolts work great, just make sure that they are tight. SmoothSteve Quote
