Well i got the timng sprockets lined up and new gasket on and everything torqued down right. Everything seemed fine until i tried to put the damper on i cross threaded it now i am F@@@ed. If anybody in the milwaukee area think they could fix it you can come on by and i will pay you most mechanics dont even want to touch it and i dont know if i should just get a motor from a junkyard or what any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

you might be able to try to re do the threads in it if you get a tap of the right size other wise you might be able to use a helicoil to put in there but i've never messed with those and they might not work.

At work if we cross theard an engine we just use helifoil most of the time but some time tap them too . we do it on most engines and they are all brand new.

not to be a novice poster, but what exactly does cross thread mean, ive heard it a lot.

cross thread meas that you have cut the original threads with different threads or cut the original thead out totaly
