Spcboyd1 Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 Well i got the timng sprockets lined up and new gasket on and everything torqued down right. Everything seemed fine until i tried to put the damper on i cross threaded it now i am F@@@ed. If anybody in the milwaukee area think they could fix it you can come on by and i will pay you most mechanics dont even want to touch it and i dont know if i should just get a motor from a junkyard or what any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Scannerman Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 you might be able to try to re do the threads in it if you get a tap of the right size other wise you might be able to use a helicoil to put in there but i've never messed with those and they might not work. Quote
GRANDFURY Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 At work if we cross theard an engine we just use helifoil most of the time but some time tap them too . we do it on most engines and they are all brand new. Quote
90lum31v6euro Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 not to be a novice poster, but what exactly does cross thread mean, ive heard it a lot. Quote
