Guest Anonymous
When I left work this morning it started fine, BUT it was hard to get it out of park. I just went to leave and now it won't start. 1st thing I thought of (after reading gmrulz4u's thread) was to check the trunk release. Doesn't work.Fuses are all ok. Could it be the switch on the tranny?
gmrulz4u
Definately sounds like it...especially if it's not starting in BOTH Park and Neutral...have you tried both?
Guest Anonymous
BOTH Park and Neutral...have you tried both? Yes I have. Also, I have no backup lights.
GnatGoSplat
Hard to get it out of park kind of sounds like the P/N switch is busted pretty badly.
Guest Anonymous
Looks like I get to shovel through several feet of snow tomorrow so I can take the switch off the TGP. :dammit:
SmoothSteve3
just out of question, where is the P/N switch located? Is it deep within the tranny? Or on the surface somewhere?
Guest Anonymous
It's on top where the linkage connects.
Gearhead43
Did you try going in to N? Or wiggling the shifter in P or N and then try to see if its cranks?

Guest Anonymous
OK, car is fixed. It was the P/N switch. I took the one off the TGP. Put it on, snugged the bolts and tried it. Car starts, reverse lights work, and the trunk release works. Never had to adjust it. If I can ever get into starphoto to upload a pic, I'll show you where it broke. Guest Anonymous
Here's the pic. What a pain in the ass to change. Getting it off the tranny was easy. The PM III is out of the TGP so they made it real easy. But the location of the plug sucks ass. http://photo.starblvd.net/redturbo90/4-3-5-1079625529?m=1&pg=3&ro=2&co=
