I own a 4 dr GP STE 8) I would like to run a tranny-cooler on it ? good idea or not? 4 speed auto right now shift's fine fluid clear but smells funny Im going to change the lines and fluid soon :!: I would like to do this in one stop & add a cooler to!

also in the snow both tires spin at idle should they? on my olds they both spun for a year and a half then k-boom r-r the tranny. is this a problem or not ?

 does anybody get more than 18 mpgs on these cars ? i did plugs, wires, fuel psi check & it checked out ok by the book, air cleaner k\n . what did i miss?

i would like 25-30 mpg it weighs 3385 lbs. i would like to make it lighter if i could ? 2800 lbs would be good ?

how about engine oil cooler good or not? :bash:

can an engine run to cool ?

I guess what im trying to say is that I want this car to stay in the family for a lonnnnng time i guess think to much. i should put this to good work :guns: thanks jeff

no nobody gets more than 18mpg we wish, 2800lbs not unless you make it into a full blown racer not even 3k, tires spinnin' at idle that's weird, and yes an engine can run too cool dunno bout the tranny cooler, hey guys didn't many of these cars come with them, at least the newer ones like 95 or 96+

The external tranny cooler is a very good idea; helps prolong tranny fluid from not buring up so quick.

At an idle in snow with my Cutlass DOHC, they did not spin... but with a little gas, they did.

I was getting an average of 22 / 29 mpg econ with DOHC; that was after everything that's possible on a tune-up.

Weight reduction is a good idea, but you'll have a tough time to cut corners on it.

Unfortunatly, the whole car adds up, even every nut and bolt adds up...

The EPA rating is only 17 City and 27 Highway I believe. These 3.4's do not get good mileage. My DIC always said I was getting 13.8 MPG but I figured it out today and I'm getting closer to 18 so go figure.
