C-REX Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Could u swap a bottom end out of a 3800 into a 3.1? What the fucks the different? Quote
maybe2fast Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 different engines (probably many differences) Quote
99RegalGS Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 There is nothing the same between the engines. The biggest difference is that the crankshaft in the 3800 is a split journal crankshaft while the 3.1 isn't. Bigger bore. Longer stroke. Quote
Robby1870 Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 yeah, 3.1L is internally balanced and 3800 isnt Quote
jeremy Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 was this really a serious question? Quote
MaroonRegal Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Larger Bore, Larger Stroke, Different Angles of Separation. Quote
99RegalGS Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 In case you want to visually see the difference of some parts I found pics of a 3800 crankshaft and a 60* crankshaft. 3800 60* (the one on the left is a 2.8 crank and the one on the right is a 3.4 crank) Quote
