god910
Well, I finally picked up the rest of the parts from the guy I bought the 2 TGP's off of. (Yup Davis, one of the is red/ grey) Anywho, I was surprised to see the front fascia and valance from the red TGP there, in PERFECT shape already prepped and primered. he did a shabby job on the primer, so I will redo it and then take it to my old dodge d-ship I used to work at. They still paint for me very cheaply. I also got the engine and auto tranny from the red car. (Engine torn down, and very badly I might add, (t/c cover broken in half, w/ half still on the engine)) I got a box of random parts that will be needed to finish some things (speaker bottom covers, etc.) So, I think I am finally done making trips to his house to get the rest of the stuff, the only thing I don't have is the upper and lower intakes, x-over, and other minor stuff. On a side note, I can't get into the trunk of the red TGP so some of the stuff might be in there. The only things I am really worried about is the upper and lower intake, due to the fact that my lower on Black Sunshine was damaged by the short bolt on the T-Stat housing. So, for $31 (had to buy my buddy lunch for helping me lift the engine into the truck, and pay for gas) I got the rest of the stuff for both my TGP's. I am thinking of putting the grey int. back into the red car and put a motor/tranny in it. (Probably the rebuild I am getting ready for.) It's a beautiful car, just taken apart. I will post pics of it in it's current condition later tonight on my Webshots site. You all will cringe.
god910
It was, but the p/o tore the red car apart (read: there is now no interior in the red one, and no front end on it.) to make the black car black/grey. So, I can either make the red car red/grey or I can finish the black on grey, and put the tan into the red one. Either way I don't really care, but I would rather have the red car running and looking good (only because it's less work, but the black one definetly carries more cool factor) so I may put it back together bone stock and put the grey back into it, for show purposes. Then make the black one my fast one. (Relatively, of course, hell they're all fast )
Jeff M
The only things I am really worried about is the upper and lower intake, due to the fact that my lower on Black Sunshine was damaged by the short bolt on the T-Stat housing. I think I mention this just recently, and maybe you already tried or know this, maybe not worried about but, the stock bolt is too short and does not use the full length of threads that ARE in there, if you get a longer bolt like one with an UHL of about 22.82mm, you will be able to reach in and get a good hold and be able to reuse that hole and the lower intake in your builds. What happens aside from this bolt being too short is same as with spark plugs, people have taken out the bolt when the engine was hot, and some of the bolt hole threads with it, so…..when using the new bolt apply some anti-size and give the lower manifold time to cool before working on it. As a preventative action, I would recommend everyone replace this bolt now so there are fewer chances in the future for damaged threads as is common to this bolt and hole, some of the problem too is the setting up the 2 metals do to each other, that the anti-size will help stop. god910
Una problema senior, the bolt broke off in the manifold, had to drill it out. It was an emergency job, if you know what I'm saying

It was an emergency job, if you know what I'm saying Small detail there Hombre , I guess your statement here "damaged by the short bolt on the T-Stat housing" threw me off but it sounds more like the results of getting it out fudged things up. So then a thread-zert or such is all that is left less you drill and tap for the next larger size bolt :? Jeff M
god910
Well, as it sits right now, I drilled it all the way out, used a can of brake cleaner, then I got a piece of all thread and two parted that muther in there. Then I used a nut to hold the upper I/C pipe on. So, now there is just a piece of all thread sticking up until I can get it fixed or a new lower manifold. If you are in a hurry and cannot find a lower intake, let me know as I have one spare in good condition (threads too ). Jeff M
