Guest TurboSedan
while trying to fix my turn signal problem tonight, i broke my steering column. when i was loosening the big 13/16" steering wheel nut, the tilt mechanism broke. so i just got done pulling the entire column out. it was pretty easy; 4 bolts hold it in, 1 bolt on the U-joint, and then unplug it. i'm going to a salvage yard very soon to get a replacement column. i'm getting one from a floor shift car so i can get rid of that ugly stub where the column shifter used to be on my car. will any 1st Gen W-body column work? obviously it needs to bolt right in, but the wiring pinout in the plug needs to match my car also. thanks again joshua
gp90se
I believe they are the same, the harness plugs are identical, I would think the rest is the same. -Jeff
Guest TurboSedan
cool beans, hopefully the salvage yard won't charge me over $75 or so for a column. and hopefully the turn signal switch won't be all worn out! thanks joshua
