Whiskey River
Hey guys, I have a question about the brakes on my Lumina. Here recently, last few months or so, I have been noticing that my driver's side front caliper is eating brake pads. So much so that when I changed the pads a couple of weeks ago, the drivers side was completely shot and the passenger side was barely used. The rear brakes seem to be wearing evenly so that seems to rule out a bad master cylinder. I replaced the caliper on the passenger side a few months ago and have had the same problem. It almost sounds like a sticky caliper but everything works OK from my stand point. When releasing the brakes, the driver side wheel doesn't bind or drag any more than the passenger side wheel. Any ideas on what I can try next? Thanks.
DOHCRagtopguy
Replace the brake hose on the side that isn't wearing. I went thru 3 calipers before I figured that out once. What happens is the inside of the hose deteriorates and cracks and actually becomes like a one-way valve with the fluid.

I'll give that a try this weekend, I would have never guessed that the hose would cause something like that. I replaced the driver's side hose a couple months ago because the outside of it was cracked. Guess I should have replaced the passenger side as well. Thanks again.
