Not ready to shell out the $$$$....

so I'm hoping this is minor or a problem that can be uncovered and fixed at a low cost....

It's about 25-35 degrees in the mornings, I go out and warm the car up it gives me the high idle (3000 rpms) and cut off routine the first 5 minutes if I dont stay on the gas. I do notice that on the ground under the front passenger side, like under the radiator hose or something, there's a leak. But, its neither constant nor excessive. Another thing is that the "Service Engine soon" light comes on after I let the car warm/ idle for 6 minutes or so, but once in drive i dont see it til the next morning...any ideas what it may be?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like bad intake manifold gasket.

If you haven't changed them recently, then it's about time.

Verify this by spraying some carb cleaner at the gasket. If the car responds to it with a change in RPM, the gaskets are bad.

Much appreciation, I'll get on that asap. I kinda expected that, what's a good price range for such a part? or could i find it on Ebay...lol

I don't remember it costing any more than $20, but I really can't remember. I could probably look it up after I get home.
