Hi, I'm new here and i have a 95 grand prix 2d with the 3.1L in it. My tranny when it is shifting from 1st to 2nd like to take some time to shift in to 2nd gear and then make the car jolt when it does. it been like this for about 9 months and it just started and stayed the same. anyone know what it might be? thanks

Check your tranny fluid, it might be very low.

Also could be a vacuum leak, or a bad transmission vacuum modulator.

the tranny fluid is good or it was the last time i looked like a month ago. also you can tell it doing it easier when you are at higher RPM's then when it is at lower ones.

But you haven't checked it lately?

Agreed it could be a bad vacuum modulator.

But it could be a multitude of things; blocked valve body...

What about your condition at high RPM's? You post didn't make much sense...

Robby1870, wasn't there a non-drivetrain sensor that affect the tranny's performance as well?

when I'm at higher RPM's the car jolt more then I'm at lower RPM's. also if i let off the gas when it is shifting it don't do it then.

and i just checked it, it is right where it should be.
