ses light?

Could be, but also double check your MAP sensor.

A vacuum leak will cause the ECM to run a rich condition.

my service engine soon light pops on and stays on when i push the car past 5200 on the tach. it just comes on and stays on solid, no blinking

the car runs fine, no erratic idle or anything

and when i shut the car off for about 5-10 seconds, it goes away

is it anything i need to worry about?

Yeah, even though the SES Light is not flashing, it's still an issue.

You don't want it to flash, flashing indicates a severe problem detected by the ECM.

You'll want to ground / scan the system ASAP: W-Body Performance - OBDI Diagnosis.

Even the light goes away, the ECM still keeps a record of the faulty circuit.
