ismellrealbad Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Reading the other post about the cable being stuck i know the feature that prevents you from shifting without stepping on the brake is called shift lock. but isnt the fact that the car isnt supposed to roll in the opposite direction of the gear that its in (forward in reverse, backwards in drive) also called shift lock? if not what is that called. i know my old gp used to roll right back as fast as it wanted when i took my foot off the brake on a hill Quote
JPaganel Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Actually it's called "safety interlock". Some manufacturers may call it "shift interlock", but it's still interlock. Shift lock, AFAIK, is what prevents you from shifting without a key in the ignition. Quote
