grandprix104 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 Well i replaced the O2 sensor today while i was working on the hood release cable and Holy shit the car is more responive! Not nearly as much lag time before the engine gets some gas. Now i need to get the catalytic conv. replaced because the car still feels restrained but is running much better. Also i think the lifter noise (ticking) my engine always makes is much quieter (dont know why or how its related). How to replace one on a 3100 (others VERY similar) 1. remove airbox 2. rotate engine - remove torque strut (TS) bolts on engine side - thread TS bolt back though bracket and through eyelet on bottom of TS. 3. unplug O2 sensor (follow wires up from sensor which is right after the y-pipe before the downpipe). 4. use crescent wrench to loosen O2 sensor (you DON'T need a special wrench) 5. put conductive anti-sieze lubricant on sensor (make sure you get the right type - borg-warner includes it) 6. replace sensor and put everything back together DONE Total Tme: 15min work 45 min waiting for car to cool off Easy!
