fleetwoodguy79 Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 My engine has an INCREDIBLY rough idle. The needle is constantly is jumping, and the car sort of shudders no matter whether its in drive or not. I've replaced the air filter, PCV valve, and ran some good cleaner through the engine. Does anyone know what might cause this? It's steadily getting worse, and I'm afraid that the engine will die at stops. If anyone could help me you would be forever in my good graces :-)! Thanks! chronic139 Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 sounds like either a vacuum leak or a sensor problem. Check for disconnected hoses for the vaccuum. As for the sensors I dont know how one would go about diagnosing which it is. Quote
fleetwoodguy79 Posted November 13, 2002 Author Report Posted November 13, 2002 No the SES light isn't on... if it is a vaccuum leak, how would I go about trying to fix this? Any proceedures? Quote
gpse3200 Posted November 14, 2002 Report Posted November 14, 2002 well if tis idling that bad, you'de hear the vacuum leak. Might be the map sensor or somthing with the ignition. You'll have to elaborate even more, If its a miss or its just running very very odd. Quote
