85 Jeep Cherokee Engine Yank

So, I gotta pull the motor from my dads Cherokee, it's a 5 speed 2.5L 4 cyl. 4WD. Anybody have tips on the easiest way to separate the engine/tranny? I'm not looking forward to this, but the shop he goes to wants $2200 to R&R and rebuild his motor. I'm not gonna let him get fucked like that, and I never work on 4x4's or manuals for that matter. I hate them (but love to drive them) Also, if anyone knows if there was an injected 2.5L (throttle body injected preferably) I would like to inject this damn thing. But, my dad loves his Jeep, so if I don't rebuild it, he's gonna spend way too much money. TIA.
