Steve94CutlassConver. Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 has anyone seen a list of vin #'s that were / are in the recall ? ? * * *GM Has Recalled Vehicles  (SafetyAlerts) - Reportedly, General Motors Corp. is recalling more than 800,000 cars because of a power-steering defect that has led to at least eight injuries. About 750,000 cars in the United States and about 55,000 in Canada are involved. All were made between Jan. 1, 1996, and Oct. 31, 1997, GM said Monday. The models are the 1996 Buick Regal, 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, 1997-98 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo and Malibu and 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue cars. Also, some 1996 Pontiac Grand Prixes and Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremes, and 1997-98 Buick Regals are being recalled. Drivers have experienced intermittent losses of power steering when making left turns, especially at low speeds, GM said. The drivers experienced higher resistance when turning left, followed by unintended power assist to the right that could pull the car in that direction, the company was reported to have said. General Motors will begin instructing car owners next month to bring the affected vehicles to dealers for repairs. Quote

supreme_style21 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 holy crap.. this has been in more than a few threads. If you don't get a letter about it, go to the GM service station and ask them if your VIN is included in the recall. Quote

Steve94CutlassConver. Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 Not all of us here are under 19 , some of us DO have a life / family, job , 1200 dollar house payments , 2 or 3 car payments etc etc and can't spend 16 hours of the day on here reading EVERY single freakin post , or everytime someone posts a car for sale there is ALWAYS someone (Dannymik , not to mention names ) that has to ask 10 questions about a car he will NEVER buy . Is it because he's beat all his playstation 1 games and is bored , or Daddy put Nannysitter software on the family pc and someone can't get to da porn sites anymore when no one is watching ?? ,Some of us can't take time to post or read 1856 post a week , Some do have other interest too besides getting on here all day and talkin about how sweet their rides are and how their homemade air induction made from mom's old bra's and panty hose added .2 hp and how Pep Boyz has the new chromium spinna pimpin ain't easy wheel covers on sale ,cause your Mickey D's job doesn't pay enough to get real wheels right now , SOME of us are actually here looking for info and tech. data , repair help , etc . DON"T GET ME WRONG , I love my olds , not my first or my last one , But excuse the hell out of you if this has been posted before , I don't have time to look thru 8 pages to see if it was or wasn't , next time I get some info maybe I'll keep it to myself , then you'd all bitch about that too  . I found this site looking for recall info and this place saved me around $ 600 on recall work that my dealer uh , forgot about or didn't ??? know about . ahhh I feel better . I like this place very much , so don't hate , But check out CNN.com or ESPN.com now and again , there IS life beyond the W's Quote
