Anyone else notice this?

I was driving home from school today in my STE and I look down and the odometer is just rolling over 99,800 miles. So I drive a few more miles and notice it is still reading 99,800 miles, but it has rolled further so you can't see so much of the 799. Finally after 10 miles of it starting (according to the trip odometer), it completely rolls over and then goes to 99,801. Then I noticed by comparing the odometer to the trip odometer that it reads 10% fast afterwords which would make up for the 10 miles it takes for it to roll over to the next 100. I am wondering if they all do this, or if it is just my odometer that is screwed up. I have never noticed this before on this car of the other TGP so I am confused.
