rudefyet
Hey guys i was just wondering anyone know the power output of a 97 or so GTP with an L67 at the wheels? um...also kinda wondering how much power you think i'd run if i had ram air, a nice exshaust system, a computer chip and a supercharger underdrive pulley. Though about the pulley and chip where can i find those and also how much boost can a stock L67 handle? Hope i'm not asking too many questions...just curious before i pick up my new GP
dbtk2
A stock Series II L67 should put out 192 horsepower to the wheels assuming exactly 20% drivetrain loss. They are usually right around there somewhere at between 190 & 200whp. With the mods you listed you could be making a wide range of power depending on what pulley you put on, what exhaust work you do, what computer you put in it, etc.... If you are just talking about a cat-back exhaust, then you would want to go with a 3.4" supercharger pulley, and then a reprogrammed PCM, that would put you at somewhere around 220-230whp. If you are going to do headers, larger downpipe, high flow cat, removed u-bend, and exhaust then you may be able to go to a 3.25" pulley and that could put you somewhere in the 240-250whp range. The ram-air hood MAY give you 2hp...it won't do much, they are pretty much just for appearance purposes. Without an intercooler you can generally run around 10-12psi boost on an L67 with the stock timing before you run into knock depending on other mods. With an intercooler and stock timing, you can run somewhere around 13-15psi boost depending on other mods before you run into knock.
