Thabulldog
This guy I know has a dealer and had like a 98+ GP with a HUD. The windshield was cracked and they got him for 100 bucks more to replace it because they said the HUD needed to have special glass to make it appear clear. Is that true or BS like I'm feeling it is? I only think its BS because many people have installed HUDs in their cars and I don't think it made a difference as to what windshield they had. Thanks! luminator94
Yep, that's right. I've driven a W-body w/o the special glass, and compared to my GTP, it does make a difference in clarity. BTW, it was the same year make and model w/o the special glass. Aaron
supreme_style21
Unless the insurance company is paying for it, it ISN'T worth the extra cash though. The difference I've noticed between HUD and non-HUD glass is nothing to be concerned about.
