musthavemuzk Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Stock battery for that long is impressive! i was thinkin that exactly. especially since he is in canada. cold winters can be hard on batteries. when i replaced mine shortly after i got my cutty it was 7 years old. that was an interstate battery. i went with a AC Delco platinum Monty Quote
Daggar Posted January 5, 2004 Author Report Posted January 5, 2004 Are you running subs/amps and stuff, or just stock? I've had pretty good luck with the regular Canadian Tire batteries. Also had a Die Hard in my car which lasted quite a while. It's a possbility I may put my sub back in it but I doubt it. I have a Motomaster Eliminator in my 1967 I was thinking that for the Lumina but the AC Delco has lasted so long in the Lumina I may just replace it with the same. But have you seen those weird new batteries at Canadian Tire? /boggle Quote
PJB Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I dont know if you have Walmart up there but their Everstart batteries are good. Ive had them in 3 of my vehicles and my parents had them in two of theirs. Quote
jeffcanada Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Crappy Tire sells Optima batteries now (but only online), as well as those new fancy spiral core (or whatever they are called) batteries; both far far too much money. I actually just changed my battery. I went with a top rated Eliminator, and it is fantastic. It has higher CCA than the more expensive batteries, and if memory serves, it actually has a longer reserve than the Optima and co. batteries as well, and is backed by a pretty good warranty. There are actually charts at http://www.canadiantire.com which list the CCA's, etc. of a particular battery line. Quote
