Guest Anonymous
FFP makes an U/D pulley for 3.1's. 90TGP has it I believe and he said it revs quicker.
90TGP
Hi. Yep, http://www.fastfwdperformance.com makes the 3.1 underdrive pully. I have it on my TGP. It revs faster, has a little bit more torque, and pulls a bit harder on the top end. I thought it was worth the money. Looks a heck of a lot nicer then that rusting stock pully that was on my motor. 8)
dkorinko
Looks like a good idea, as soon as i get the extra 100 bucks, i am gonna snag that thing, thanks guys.
dbtk2
While you guys are on the topic of this pulley, I want to ask you guys your opinion. I need to put mufflers on my STE, and I found the ones I want (the magnaflows in the topic about mufflers that I started), but I also want to put on one of these underdrive pullies. Eventually I am going to do both, but right now I only have the money to do one. The mufflers are $107.00 shipped, and the pulley is 109.99 + shipping. Which one do you think I should do first? I know the pulley will improve performance and gas mileage, but the better flowing mufflers should improve performance also (probably not as much, but they still should) along with sounding better, but I don't know if they would help gas mileage any. I am leaning towards the pulley but would like to know what you guys think. I have been debating for a week or so about which to do, but really can't decide. Thanks, Shawn
dkorinko
I would do the pulley first, and instead of doing mufflers you could always remove them??? I know if you go to http://www.turbogpgarage.com it actually shows u what u need and how to do it, and u can listen to what it would sound like too! just an idea on how u could do both things u want and spend a lot less money! 4PASNU
That's a close one but I'm going to vote for the mufflers. You get the performance gain of a good flowing muffler plus that great exhaust sound.
dkorinko
Like i said, get the pulley and chop the mufflers, u'll get the sound, and the performance you are looking for!
dbtk2
Chopping off the mufflers is DEFINATELY NOT the sound I am looking for. I have heard a TGP in person with no mufflers, and IMO it doesn't sound good. I decided on the mufflers and already bought them on ebay, and now I am having them shipped. I don't want my car much louder than it already is, and I think the magnaflows will make it just right. Even with the stock mufflers it has a little drone on the highway with no cat. Its winter here with snow on the ground, so its not like I need the performance right now, because all that happens when I step on the gas is the tires spin. I have decided to save up for the pulley and get it later. Thanks for the input though! Shawn
