using a NA 3.1/5-speed wiring harness on my TGP motor??

i'm about to start work on installing my TGP motor into my CS, and i have a few questions (wiring). hope someone can point me in the right direction  :)

i'm going to be using my '90 Grand Prix NA 3.1/5-speed engine wiring harness with the '90 TSTE motor i'm putting in (i already sold the TGP harness). i will be using a grainger valve instead of an ECM controlled wastegate, but:

1. i want to know the best way to wire up the intercooler pusher fan. i'm going to be installing both TGP specific fans - i'm assuming the primary fan will work fine just by using the original primary fan connector, but what will happen if i plug the IC fan in with my car's original secondary fan connector? would i be better off by wiring in a manual switch? i will be deleting my car's entire A/C system also, if that makes a difference.

2. what should i do about going from digital EGR to the TGP style vacuum EGR? can i physically block it off and shut the EGR function off in the chip, or would that lead to detonation? i have no emission laws here, and i want to keep things as simple as possible.

3. the AIT sensor. just lengthen the wires? what about the connector?

4. anything else i should know when using a NA 3.1/5-speed harness?

TIA :)

You should be able to just turn the EGR off on the MEMCAL and use a block off plate. Dont know about it causing pre-detonation, but on n/a its fine. I cant see it causing predetonation, since the EGR is really "on" in partial throttle. At idle its off and at WOT its off too.

cool - i know the Turbo Dodges don't use EGR, so other than emissions i don't see why i need it.

1. You simply have to address the fan on/off temps to correspond w/ what you want it to do. A 3 pole On/Auto/Off switch isn't a bad idea either.

2. My EGR is going bye/bye, I wish I could have done it sooner to help in your decision.

3. My plug is broken and comes out half the time. Past that, extending the wires shouldn't be a problem since it's voltage sourced instead of resistance.

4. Don't forget about the second temp. sensor that is in the rad. I don't know much about the diff. between the two harness' but that's the first thing that popped into mind. I guess you'll know if it doesn't run right or you have alot of sensors and no wires.

Good luck w/ the swap, I was hoping to be the first to V the 4 door Cutty.
