phantomshado
The power won't change as the transmission doesn't do anything but transmit power. However, a cleaner, fresher tranny will be smoother and quieter, and a little snappier to increased fluid pressure. (old worn in transmissions create grooves in the bores that they spin in, allowing a channel for fluid to collect and decrease the overall pressure of the system, making for sloppier shifting and hesitation.) If I were you, I'd try and find a 4t-65e or HD tranny. correct me anyone, but I do believe they bolt up. Then you can toss a S/C or a turbo on that beast and have a tranny that can hold it, making races a little safer for your car...

You'd need the PCM from a 65E car, since the 65E is way more electronically controlled than the 60E. Also, its bigger than a 60E.
joey b
the 65 is from 96+ and is not plug and play to the 60 PROM. And the word from the mymonte members (where there are plenty of both) is that the 65 isn't much better if any than the 60. BTW, in the future, don't powerbrake.
