skalor
I decided that it's time for my first TGP to be scraped(see below for why). It's body is beyond what I'm willing to do to repair it, and I decided that I'm going to swap my engine/trans into a 4 door Lumina Euro. I got the Lumina for $200 and it had a blown 3.1 from the previous owner not putting oil in it. I'm doing the whole swap on Sat/Sun, and I just have a couple questions: -I just have to change the wiring harness for the non-digital EGR(TGP) and use those wires for the elec. boost controller, right?? I have a wiring diagram, but I have not looked at it yet. -Will the lumina exhaust bolt to the TGP downpipe?? -Is there any unforeseen problems I'm going to run into?? I figure it should be a pretty straight forward swap with a little wiring. 8) The hood has what looks to be hail damage with only one louver(the other is MIA), the front GFX is falling off(of course), the side GFX rubs the drivers door when you open it, the paint is peeling badly on the trunk, the car is two shades of black(the hood and rear quarter are regular black and the rest is metallic black), there is a small square hole in the rear GFX for a hitch, the paint is very badly faded, there is a dent in the front driver's fender, both front seats are ripped, the HUD doesn't work(the unit is bad as all it diplays is 188), the cassette player doesn't work, The drivers window goes down but not back up. I'm going to be sad to see her go.
95GTP
A 4 door lumina?? I know the price was right for the car but it just seems QUEER! Yea I know the TSTE was a 4 door and thats Queer too. Maybe thats why only 1000 were made. :?
skalor
http://www.w-body.com/gallery/pics/je-lumfr.jpg It looks the same as this on with the exception that it's white and it has the same wheels as a Z34. It's actually not a bad looking lumina as far as luminas go.
4PASNU
A 4 door lumina?? I know the price was right for the car but it just seems QUEER! Yea I know the TSTE was a 4 door and thats Queer too. Maybe thats why only 1000 were made. :? So are you saying any performance 4 door sedan is queer? Skalor, sorry to hear you are giving up on the TGP but it's understandable. I'm curious to see the outcome. Keep us posted.
mfewtrail
Skalor, you wanna sell me that HUD? ..I don't care if it's broke as long as the glass isn't broke in it and the height adjustment works(that doesn't really matter as well) If so, PM me with what you want for it, I have a spare TGP HUD here with broken glass and broke height adjustment switch..I could use the dimmer as well 8) Anyways, good luck w/ the EuroT conversion. 90TGP
I guess the BMW M5, Lancer Evo, Galant VR4, Bonneville SSEi is queer too? Hey Skalor, do a Z34 hood, front bumper, rear bumper, spoiler swap. But keep the original grill. And swap in a center console if the 4-door doesn't already have one. slick
The Impala is queer (well, maybe the new ones)? Any ways, can we say sleeper?
dbtk2
Are you saying that you have a problem with 4 door cars that perform. I happen to know where there are a few of them, and I think they are pretty cool. (and they definately suprise a few unsuspecting 2 doors) Shawn
slick
I would love to have a 4 door myself. Only if they came with the B4U, which I could do. But anyways, i love big family sedans with tons of power.

Sorry, I was planning to keep most of the parts as spares for my good TGP(the pic in my sig is my nice one). I work with two electrical engineers that can fix anything. Anyways, there are two HUDs on ebay right now, and they're both under $20.
skalor
Well, I got both the TGP and the lumina engine out today. It was a rough day as I started at 10am and stopped at around 12am(14hrs). I did go out for fastfood for lunch and dinner so I guess it wasn't really 14 hrs. Anyways, I'm going to put the TGP engine in the lumina tomorrow, and I think I'll get it mostly done. It's great having access to a lift and air-tools. It makes everything go so much faster. 8) Something odd I noticed is that the 4 door lumina euro exhaust is the same length(front to back) as the TGP exhaust. In fact, I mean to put the TGP exhaust on since it will fit without modifications. Plus, the TGP exhaust is a little bigger.

Guest TurboSedan
skalor, i'd like to know how hard/easy it was to mount the intercooler fan to the Lumina (any drilling?). sounds like your're doing the same thing as me....talk about a sleeper good luck joshua
dkorinko
not trying to be an asshole or screw up anyones plans or anything but i just thought that i would let u guys know....when i did the new intercooler on my TGP the fan was kinda in the way so i just removed it, the car stills runs at the EXACT same temperatures, there is no over heating what so ever. So i just thought i would let u guys know that if its going to be a big pain in the ass for u to do then u can not do it and u will be fine without it. skalor
skalor, i'd like to know how hard/easy it was to mount the intercooler fan to the Lumina (any drilling?). sounds like your're doing the same thing as me....talk about a sleeper good luckjoshua I didn't mount the intercooler fan in the lumina yet. I figured it wasn't necessarily needed right away, and I had to get the car out of the shop. I looked at it quickly and the one upper bolt went to a bracket that bolted to the front bolts on the dogbone bracket so that won't need any changes. I didn't look at the rest yet though. I worked on the swap for about 28 hrs over the weekend(about 14 hrs a day). Needless to say...I'm beat. It's pretty much done except the external tranny cooler leaks, and I didn't put the exhaust in yet. I also have to figure out the EGR and wastegate solenoid wiring yet.
