quaddriver
Check out Auterra I got in on the 'ground floor' a while back and got mine for $170ish incl shipping. The software uses a Palm (or equivalent). I was able to pick up the 8mb M105 at Circuit City for $99 on sale. You can find this software on EBAY also. Of note, is that version 4.0 (I just downloaded 4.0B last night - when you buy u get free software for life) includes Dyno software - it is able to graph the HP/Torque curves the OBD2 system provides the data for. Its worth a look. I use this in my shop (I have another scan tool but with only the 'generic' OBD2 cartridge - none of the specific ones.) This software inlcudes 41?-ish different makes of specific OBD2 codes etc. ITs pocket sized, handheld, and impresses the girls ("Remember, in the spy buisness, size matters, smaller is sexier" - Owen Wilson, 'I Spy') It can also turn off the SES for fixed problems and/or maint requirements. getragz34
Is this software used for the first generation W-Bodies ? What about the interface cable ? Can you get them already made to fit onto the GM diagnostic port ? Sounds pretty interesting
quaddriver
Is this software used for the first generation W-Bodies ?What about the interface cable ? Can you get them already made to fit onto the GM diagnostic port ? Sounds pretty interesting Its for OBD2 only - the OBD2 port is one of 3 standards which the interface module u get works on, the port is about the same basic dimensions as the GM ALDL, but it is rounded on the edges, sort of like an inverted trapezoid (mebbe like the shape of daytona sort of) You use the generic hotsync cable from the palm to the module, which plugs into the OBD2 port. This will work on every car sold in the USA since 1996
