phantomshado Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 inside or outside door handle? you're not exactly giving the rest of us a lot to go on here. Quote
conley3.1 Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Do you mean the door won't open, but the handle pulls? Or both won't pull? It's most likely just condensation that froze overnight. Quote
jeremy Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 are you sure that the door is unlocked??? Quote
Daggar Posted December 30, 2003 Author Report Posted December 30, 2003 Ok sorry it was late lastnight. when it's -15 outside. The outside drivers door handle will move but fails to acuate the door latch. To start the car I have to go in the passanger side and open the drivers door from the inside. I am thinking the grease is gunked up in the latch. What do you guys think? Quote
RedZMonte Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 i had the exact same problem. you need to open the door and take the cover off that goes over the linkage. you need to unclip the linkage and adjust it with the threaded adjustment on the end of the linkage. and walla it works. redz Quote
conley3.1 Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Oh... My parents did the same thing to fix the tailgate on their GMC. They should make those things of a more resistant metal. Quote
OldsmoBeast Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 my passenger side door does the same thing but its too cold/i'm too lazy to give a flying f*k about it...if I ever need to open that door and its not working properly, pushing the door in a little while pulling on the handle does the trick 99% of the time.
