srsheely220
well i finally blew the engine on my 1995 grand prix 3100. I have the engine all prepped for pulling but were the engine and tranny are bolted together i cant get to 2 of the bolts because of the inspection plate being tiny and the engine being siezed up and not able to be turned by hand. i was wondering if there was away to get the engine out w/out pulling it with the tranny as well. thanks

Redfox340
If siezed and cannot rotate the flywheel, you'll have to pull the entire drivetrain to gain access to the bolts. Once out, you *should* be able to unbolt the engine from the tranny. - Erik

Take the pulley off. As you lift the motor, put a floor jack with a thick sheet of plywood under the tranny and jack it up at the same time. You will be able to pull the converter off the tranny input shaft. When it comes time to reassem, just use new seals on the input shaft/stator support and you should be ok oh I should add - make life easier, take EVERYTHING off the motor u can first - intake, heads, water pump etc etc the more u get off the lighter it will be to monkey around
