no1kicker Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 Before, my car used to start in neutral (if it stalled) and now it doesn't. Any ideas? Maybe neutral switch? Or it is normal for it only to start in park. Quote
Thabulldog Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 Mine only starts in Park, I think because of my rebuilt tranny. Quote
jeremy Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 It should start in Neutral. Something must be wrong get that shit fixed.... Quote

no1kicker Posted December 26, 2003 Author Report Posted December 26, 2003 Any ideas on where to look? Quote
AWeb80 Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 check your linkage somewhere in the shifter to see if it is fully engaged into nuetral....sure the tranny might shift into neutral, but maybe there is a electrical switch that hasnt been triggered. Don't take my word for it, I don't have a clue, I'm just throwing out ideas. Quote
phantomshado Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 How cold is it when you've tried this? The grease in the linkage line is most likely gelling and not triggering the release of the park/neutral safety switch. It happened to me a few nights ago. My car was in park, but it wouldn't roll over. Turns out the switch was still in the reverse spot. Quote
dbtk2 Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 My STE won't start in neutral. (I found this out while rolling down the road at 60mph, not the best time to figure these things out) I assumed it was normal for some reason. It is odd, but maybe it is just the way TGP's are set up? I haven't tried it in the 2 door, but I could. Quote
SleeperRed90TGp Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Here's a little info. And yes it should start in neutral. http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10942 Quote
